IPO activity at Record High at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
In 2006 the Hong Kong Stock Exchange brought in a world record $227 billion with 1,559 IPO’s. In the 2005 year it was $167 billion reported.
China raised almost $22 billion alone. Large deals led the pack with the top 20 at $1.3 billion each.
The break down looked like this:
- HKSE with 17% total capital raised worldwide
- LSE with 15% total capital raised
- NYSE with 11% total capital raised
Emerging markets defiantly had a great 2006.
